Let's talk portraits!

I've been doing portraits since I first picked up a camera back in 2013. I used to practice all of the time on my friends, and always had so much fun bringing out my client's personalities in front of the camera. Whether they're headshots or graduation portraits, I love to capture them!

Portraits are so different from weddings or family photos because I get to work one-on-one with you. For me, portrait sessions are more laid back than other type of photography, and I really get to enjoy just spending time with you. Graduation sessions are always fun because it's such a happy time, and a cause for celebration! I love to be able to bring props like champagne or confetti, and use your cap and gown for photos too. Also, college campuses are generally gorgeous places to take photos, which is a huge bonus. There always seems to be an endless amount of backdrops.

I've started to develop a love of branding portraits as well. I think it's great that "headshots" aren't just stiff, posed, boring photos anymore. Getting headshots taken can be so much fun and there are so many ways to bring out your personality. Just like with graduation photos, using props can add so much to your portraits. For branding photos, I always encourage my clients to bring props that show their personalities, whether that's a favorite coffee mug or wine glass, laptop and planner, or products of any kind that showcases their work/business.

I think it's so important to have professional portraits done at certain points in your life. Chances are you worked hard to get to where you are, and getting photos taken is a great way to commemorate that time in your life! Portraits are a fun way to capture those big milestones in your life.

I believe it's important for you to feel comfortable in front of the camera, and getting to know each other a little bit helps to lower those walls some. So, I always love to meet up or talk with new clients to get to know them a little better before a session. If this sounds like something you're up for, you can fill out a contact form and we can set up a time to chat. I can give you more information and answer any questions you may have. I look forward to hearing from you!

*Portrait sessions start at $200.*
